About Our Soap
Are your soaps handmade?
Yes. Bramble & Bear™ soaps are handmade in small batches. Handmade soaps naturally have slight visual variations in color, pattern, swirl, and appearance from bar to bar.
These variations are part of the character of handcrafted soap.
What is cold process soap?
Cold process soap is made by combining oils and sodium hydroxide through a traditional soapmaking process called saponification.
After the soap is made, it cures for several weeks. This helps create a firmer, milder, longer-lasting bar.
Do your soaps contain lye?
Sodium hydroxide, also called lye, is required to make traditional cold process soap.
During saponification, sodium hydroxide reacts with oils to create finished soap. Properly made and cured soap does not contain active lye.
Why does the exact weight vary slightly?
Hand-cut bars naturally have minor differences in finished weight. Product pages list the applicable net weight or size information for each soap.

Are your soaps vegan?
Most Bramble & Bear™ soaps are vegan-friendly, with exceptions such as Oatmeal Milk & Honey.

Are your soaps fragrance-free?
Only soaps specifically labeled as unscented or fragrance-free are made without added fragrance.

How should I store my soap?

When should I use my soap for the best scent experience?
For the fullest fragrance experience, we recommend enjoying your soap within 12 months of purchase. Fragrance naturally softens over time, so proper storage helps preserve the scent.
